On the evening of May 25th, Khanh Hoi football field (Vinh Hoi Ward) was seemingly packed to capacity when the tournament's opening ceremony officially began. Mingled with the passionate cheering from hundreds of parents and the bright smiles of nearly 500 "main characters"—the young football players—it officially awakened this summer's biggest football party.

Although a grassroots tournament, the Opening Ceremony of VJSS Super League 2026 bore the distinct marks of a professional sporting event. The opening night was truly overwhelming with emotions and filled with pride as VJSS welcomed distinguished guests and strategic partners who have always been dedicated to the development of youth football in Vietnam.

The presence of Mr. Hirotsugu Tamura – General Director of House Foods Vietnam Co., Ltd (Main Sponsor), Mr. Doan Minh Xuong – Representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, Mr. Le Phan Trong Hieu – Deputy Director of the Vinh Hoi Ward Public Service Supply Center, along with representatives from Orion Vietnam, the Jogarbola sports brand, and Satori pure water, is a great recognition for the tournament's prestige.

The atmosphere at the field was "hotter" than ever with the presence of direct broadcasting coverage from Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) and the media unit Media 68.

Throughout the ceremony, there was a message repeated over and over by the Organizing Committee that gave many people food for thought: VJSS Super League 2026 is "A strange tournament."

It is strange because this is not a harsh arena established solely to find perfect playing machines. This green grass is actually a "brilliant stage"—a place without boundaries or judgment. On this stage, we do not judge the children by their height or short stature, slender or chubby bodies. No matter who they are, or where their starting point is, as long as they carry a love for the round ball in their heart, they all have the right to step into the light, proudly express themselves, and conquer their own limits!

And that "stage" this year will be incredibly grand with historic numbers. Our sporting journey will last for a solid 11 weeks (from May 25th to August 2nd, 2026). 51 teams spanning U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 age groups, and even the Adult age group will together contribute 258 peak-level matches.

More specially, 100% of these matches are being livestreamed on digital platforms, so that no matter where they are, tens of thousands of distant spectators can still follow the steps of the players. A fiery summer has officially begun. Wishing the 51 teams will play exceptionally, with fair play, and bring home the most wonderful childhood memories!

On the first day, all teams finished and deserved the title of "a strange tournament." We witnessed unbelievable scores (11-0, 8-0, 8-1, 7-2), narrow victories (5-4, 4-3, 1-0, 3-2), surprises from visiting teams (Bilbao defeating Real Madrid, Sevilla winning against Valencia), and especially the "unusual" competition format of the U15 group.

All these results, from rainfalls of goals to tight tactics, have created an extremely dramatic and unpredictable start to the entire season. Let us wait and see what other "strange" surprises the next rounds will bring.
